Workers shortages and industrial motion have prompted months of disruption on the Southern community

Talks aimed toward averting a sequence of strikes on the Southern rail community have ended with out settlement.

The Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union stated the practice operator had rejected a contemporary set of proposals that might have resolved the dispute.

“The union is indignant and upset contemporary set of proposals put ahead that tackle each our points and the corporate agenda have been rejected out of hand with barely a cursory look,” stated RMT normal secretary Mick Money.

“The travelling public will probably be rightly indignant that the corporate have kicked again in our faces an opportunity to resolve this long-running dispute.”

GTR stated it was deeply upset.

“The RMT counter-proposal did not come wherever close to our targets of modernising our practice service for the good thing about passengers,” stated CEO Charles Horton.
